We have used many moving companies in the regular moves we make as my company sends me regularly from one city to another. A couple of these moves have been major, New York City to LA and Toronto to Miami being the most difficult. Miami to Rio was no joke and Rio to Cape Town was almost the end of me. Luckily, I don’t have to organize these moves myself. The company has a relocation contractor that it uses to organize the complicated logistics and they hire the moving companies.
I am now faced with what seems to me to be a monster move. I guess it will be my last and I’m not looking forward to it at all. I just hope the moving companies who are quoting know the ropes. We currently live in San Francisco and I am being sent to Bangkok for 5 years. We have rented a villa in the fancy Nichada suburb on the edge of Bangkok.
The moving companies didn’t flinch when I read out our new address to them, so I guess it’s a routine move for these moving companies. I’m busy wondering if I will survive the new life and the new climate of Bangkok.
