Moving companies and phone policy

Moving companies are beginning to reassess their policy in regard to mobile phones used by their employees while at work. It seems that some employees in moving companies are going slightly overboard in using mobile phones while making long hauls. It goes without saying that moving companies cannot rule out entirely the use of mobile phones in cabins of their trucks as this is an integrative part of the system’s importance. However, quite a few moving companies are complaining that unless they lay down some new guidelines more and more employees are going to exploit the loopholes in the system. This means that the use of speaking on the phone while driving, for private matters, which have no connection at all to the work in hand, can have dangerous results. Moving companies point to the number of police complaints and fines accumulating at the offices of the moving companies resulting in bad driving caused by speaking on the phone. Naturally this is a general hazard, but if the
government doesn’t take the lead in some kind of legislation, then private companies, such as moving companies are quite in order that they wish to do something about it. The question is what kind of enforcement do they actually have in mind?
