Movers and history

Have you ever thought how people moved or relocated hundreds of years ago prior to the advent of mechanical vehicles. In fact it was a dreadful business for the movers had to make do with wagons and carts pulled by horses. The point is that it wasn't a problem of the size of the wagons of carts, for although today you can pack a household into one huge truck, then you needed three or more wagons. It wasn't really a problem of pullers, for the movers used horses which were quite effective. The main problem for movers was simply the infrastructure of the roads. Roads were not built for heavy loads, and some hardly suffered light traffic. Most of the roads used by movers were originally Roman roads, but over the course of history had often deteriorated and made long hauls a terrible experience. The most awful period for the medieval and ancient movers was winter when the rains were heavy and frequent. In short we should really appreciate the terms and conditions we now utilize for
moving goods and relocating. Movers today represent an entirely different world of experience and technology, one that transports in comfort and ease.
